A LITTLE PRACTICE, A LOT THAT STAYS
Free flashcard maker with Learn mode and practice tests
Make a useful first deck
Start with one topic from a lecture, not an entire textbook. Put a question on the front and one answerable idea on the back. “Explain the income statement” is broad; “What does an income statement show?” is easier to check accurately.
In Recall, create a deck, choose a title and subject, then add your cards. You can edit the wording later without intentionally starting a new card’s identity. Keep a source reference in your own notes so you can check uncertain answers.
Use more than recognition
Read a prompt, try to answer from memory, then reveal the answer. If recognising a multiple-choice answer feels too easy, switch to typed recall or a written practice test. Recall includes Flip, Learn, typed recall, multiple choice, Match, cloze and mixed tests in its core free tools.
Study a few cards, then return to the due queue rather than repeatedly cramming the same easy answers. Your ratings guide Recall’s review schedule; they do not guarantee mastery or exam performance.
Bring your existing cards
You can import text exported from a study app or a two-column CSV. Preview the front/back mapping before saving. Anki users should export Notes in Plain Text: Recall does not directly import APKG packages, media or the original review history.
Manual studying, import/export and account sync are available free. AI generation has a monthly allowance and can produce up to 50 editable draft cards per request when the source supports them. Guests can create up to 50 total cards on their device; that is a separate limit. An email account enables syncing. Recall is for learners aged 16 and over.
